Year 4 visit Ashton

This week, Year 4 visited Ashton to ask people their views and opinions on how the town has changed over time. Children created their own questionnaires in order to find out this information. It was great to speak to people who live in and around the town yesterday.

Science

In Year 4, we have been growing cress to see the water cycle in action. We placed cress seeds in a cup and watered it. Then, we placed cling film over the top of the cup and placed them in the widow. We observed that as the Sun heated up the cup, the water evaporated and then gather on the top of the cling film. When the water drops were too heavy, they fell back down to the soil just like rain.

In school, we have been discussing the General Election. Pupils were talking about and ordering the issues that are most important to them. We then discussed our ideas and debated how important the issues are.

Powerful adjectives

Today in Year 4, children were using a thesaurus to find powerful adjectives. We were doing this so we have a bank of adjectives to help us write our very own fantasy stories.
